Plasser & Theurer’s video inspection systems are designed to record images of the track, as seen by the driver of the track recording vehicle, the catenary wire structures, and the track components. Furthermore, Plasser & Theurer offers a thermal imaging system to monitor temperatures and temperature differences in the track and the surrounding structures.
All video systems are digital, storing the recorded images as image files on the hard drive of the video recording computers. Images taken by each video system are tagged with track and location information including GPS data, allowing exact geo-referencing of the recorded images with other recorded track data.
In order to record high quality images under all ambient light conditions, each video system comes with an illumination system optimized for the specific application.
On-board and off-board video images can be displayed synchronized to the other recorded track data.
