Europten uses the heavy-duty, four-axle motor tower car in standard railway vehicle design mainly in Austria and Germany. Thanks to its extensive equipment, the field of application of this MTW 100 is versatile. It ranges from line modernisations, adaptations of the overhead line to modern systems to works in tunnels, troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.

The forces in the overhead line system are enormous – the Plasser & Theurer motor tower cars offer the fitters a safe working environment.
The fully hydraulic column lifting platform consists of three independent work platforms enabling simultaneous work in different areas and at different heights – laterally up to 4.5 m in each case and up to a height of approx. 9 m. Fitted with folding railings, the roof is strong enough to stand on and can carry material on the reinforced pallet storage area. The railway loading crane can bring material and components directly to the working area. A safe passageway between the two cabins is provided by hydraulically foldable walkways on both sides adjacent to the column lifting platform. This means that it is no longer necessary to climb down from the machine during work.
Europten takes safety very seriously. According to Wolfgang Schlesinger, Head of Department for Overhead Lines, “The forces in the overhead line system are enormous – the Plasser & Theurer motor tower cars offer the fitters a safe working environment”.
