Since 2003, a catenary installation machine, type FUM 100.128, has been operated in Germany. In recent years, an average number of 200 shifts per year have been carried out. Using this technology, more than 1,300 km of contact wire were exchanged. In Italy, a FUM 100.080 has been in operation since 1998. So far, this machine has installed about 2,000 km of overhead line. Every year, the machine is put into operation in about 100 shifts. Per shift, 1,300 m of contact wire are exchanged.
