Track laying and rehabilitation

Highest quality reserve from the very first layer

In track laying and rehabilitation, the production of a high-quality and homogeneously compacted ballast bed is particularly important. Dynamic track stabilisation guarantees controlled compaction already during the placing of the ballast. Each individual layer of ballast is compacted immediately after being placed ("layer-by-layer compaction", see "What is the effect of dynamic track stabilisation?"). The continuously homogenised ballast bed improves the track geometry durability and extends the maintenance intervals as well as the service life of the track.

For this reason, ballast cleaning and track renewal machines are more and more often equipped with a DGS. On some large machines, a separate work unit is installed behind each ballasting unit.

Ballast cleaning and track renewal machines are more and more often equipped with a DGS. On this RM 900 HD-100, it is easy to see that the DGS is installed just behind the ballasting unit. The resulting layer-by-layer compaction guarantees continuous homogenisation already during the placing of ballast.
